Principal’s Welcome

Céad míle fáilte go dtí St Joseph’s C.B.S.

We are a co-educational Catholic school, under the patronage of the Archdiocese of Armagh and the Edmund Rice Schools Trust. While proud of our Catholic heritage, we warmly welcome children of all faiths and none. At St Joseph’s, every child is valued, included, and encouraged to belong.

Our school is a place of learning, laughter and growth. We want our pupils to discover a real joy in learning, to develop their talents, and to be curious about the world around them. Whether through sport, music, art, drama, or play, we believe school should be fun and full of opportunities for every child to shine.

We work in close partnership with parents and families, fostering a strong sense of community where everyone is respected and supported. As a proud School of Sanctuary since March 2025, we also place great importance on nurturing values of fairness, justice, and care for others—both within our school and in the wider world.

St Joseph’s is more than just a school—it is a welcoming community where children feel safe, happy, and ready to achieve their best.

I invite you to explore our website to get a sense of the life, spirit and belonging that makes St Joseph’s C.B.S. so special.

Is mise le meas,

Sarah Bradley

What a fabulous day for our School of Sanctuary committee in TU Dublin this morning. We were one of 8 schools celebrating becoming a Champion School of Sanctuary. Lovely presentations from all 8 schools. @zakmoradi spoke about his experience and how sport brings us together. A massive well done to all the boys and girls who represented us today collecting our award. To our tv stars interviewed kn @rtenews2day - you were phenomenal! Ms Maher, Ms Chukwurah and Ms Murphy thank you for guiding our super committee. Thank you to the school community as a whole for putting in such hard work to make our school a Champion School of Sanctuary. @sos_ireland
“Let’s Speak Irish This Seachtain na Gaeilge! 🇮🇪 Seachtain na Gaeilge is a wonderful chance for parents and children to celebrate our language together. You don’t have to be fluent — every word counts! Try simple phrases at home like: Dia dhuit (Hello) Conas atá tú? (How are you?) Go raibh maith agat (Thank you) Oíche mhaith (Good night) This Seachtain na Gaeilge, let’s make Irish part of family life. When children hear and use Irish every day, even in small ways, it builds confidence and pride in our culture. Parents don’t need perfect Irish — just a willingness to try.
As part of Arts Week at St Joseph's some classes visited the Highlanes Gallery. Here are G6 enjoying James Moonan's exhibition.
The children in the school who practice the Muslim faith presented an assembly on Ramadan. They were very excited to tell the school community about the practise and the celebration of Eid following. Alison Comyn attended and was highly impressed by the presentation. A huge thanks to Kamal and his mum Selma for the help and support putting the power point together. #ramadanmubarak 💚💛
Fantastic crowd for our Bedtime Stories tonight in St Joseph's. Thanks to everyone for coming. Thanks to our readers Mrs Collins, Mr Mulroy and our parent volunteer 🙋‍♀️ Ailbhe. We hope the children enjoyed it as much as we did. We love sharing storytime. #upthejoes💚💛 #readmore
